Castor Oil
Castor oil was used for everything in the VL Pearson house. I only remember how much I disliked taking it to prevent colds, constipation, and healing wounds.
But it was also used as a weapon amongst my aunts and uncles. It wasn't wise to sleep with your mouth open in the VL Pearson house otherwise you may wake up choking on a spoonfull of castor oil that someone so affectionally poured down your throat.

Annie

Lactose Intolerant
Grandad Virgil Pearson would eat buckets of ice cream, devour a bowl of bran cereal and milk, drink a nice cup of buttermilk and even had no problem sipping on the milk that had soured (because nothing should go to waste).
Only problem was that I don't think he realized that he was severely lactose intolerant.
Unfortunately, everybody else did .

Family Picnic
This is one of my favorite photos of my mother (Eula Jackson) and her mother / my grandmother (Methel Pearson). This was a Methel family picnic at Little Ocmulgee Park in Mcrae, GA in 1969. That is my cousin Gayle Liggins Jones in the background 1971.

Tony Plays A Scarecrow
I remember as a child that I went to see my cousin perform as the Scarecrow in a live adaptation of the Wizard of Oz. He was amazing. He embodied the character with humor and ease.
His body moved like jello and if I recall correctly he had an amazing singing voice. I don't remember anything else about that play except the awe I felt while watching him.

Kenneth Rutland
A Call for Prayer
Our Kenneth Rutland put out a request for pryaer for 'America and the World'. If you have the least bit of anxiety about the current state of affairs in America and the world or anything else, pray that God moves "not by power, not by might but by his Spirit." It is my belief that God routinely does the improbable and specializes in things thought impossible. If you cannot find the words to say, please moan and groan and the Holy Spirit will make the interpretation and present your plea to God the father. Even when we half-heartedly believe and have doubts, much prayer, much power, little prayer, little power. Not saying anything in this communication, you probably do not know. Just asking you, yours and all you know to PRAY and be encouraged.
Trey Wilson
What's Still Loading for You?
Our Trey Wilson, a rising Jr at the Univeristy of Georgia was interview by Beyond the Arch about his college experience.
'Wilson is a born people person and a self-described extrovert.
Over the summer, he landed a coveted internship with Monomoy Capital Partners in New York. And within just two days in the Big Apple, he had already made plans with nearly a dozen people. That affable nature is a family trait, he says.
“Family is, in my opinion, one of the most important things in life,” Wilson says. “On a family beach trip, I asked my grandfather once for advice on finances, and he goes: ‘Do you want to know what my best investment was? It’s this family time that I’ve been able to establish. You can’t put a value on cultivating really good memories.’”'
